Two Jerusalems: Which Jerusalem Are You Connected To?

Galatians 4:21-31 identifies two Jerusalems:

Jerusalem #1: The physical Jerusalem of the old covenant law that:

- is connected to Mount Sinai where the law was given

- is connected to Hagar and Ishmael

- produces slaves to the law because of its rejection of Jesus and the grace he has freely given us for righteousness

- rejects the new covenant of grace established in the blood of Jesus

- seeks righteousness and eternal life through the works of the law

Jerusalem #2: The heavenly Jerusalem of the new covenant of grace:

- that is connected to the cross of Jesus where grace was given

- whose children are free from the law

- who have received the free gift of righteousness through faith in Jesus

- who live by the Spirit of Jesus within our hearts

If you are believer in Jesus, you are connected to the heavenly Jerusalem of grace not the earthly Jerusalem of law.
