You Have Been Highly Graced!

When the angel Gabriel appeared to Mary, he said...

"Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.”

The word actually spoken by Gabriel was charis.

The actual translation of charis is grace.

So the angel told Mary she was highly graced.

Mary was highly graced because she would be the one to give birth to Jesus.

Jesus brought grace to all the people of the world.

Titus 2:11 says,

For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people.

The grace that brings salvation was given to us by God through Jesus.

Ephesians 1:6-8 says,

...6to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.

...7In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace...

...8that he lavished on us.

God has LAVISHED his grace upon us.

Just like Mary, we have been highly graced!

Grace is everything God has done for us through the death and resurrection of Jesus to:

...forgive our sins,

...make us holy and righteous,

...bring us from death to life, and

...bring us into relationship with himself.

God's grace to us is fully and freely offered to all people but is received individually through faith in Jesus.

Jesus, thank you for dying for all of my sins on the cross so I could be forgiven. Thank you for shedding your blood to clear my sin record and cleanse me from all sins. Thank you for taking my sinfulness upon yourself at the cross and giving me your righteousness. Thank you for rising from the dead to give me eternal life. Thank you for bringing me into relationship with God through your death and resurrection. Thank you for your grace.
