The rich man, in The Story of the Rich Man and Lazarus, and the prostitute of Revelation have the following in common:
The were clothed in purple and fine linen.
They lived in luxury.
They burned in fire.
Who is the rich man and the prostitute?
The Rich Man = The Religious Leaders In Jerusalem
The religious elite in Jerusalem wore purple and fine linen and lived in luxury just as the rich man in the parable.
In Exodus 28:1-6, the clothing of the priests included purple and fine linen.
In Exodus 25-40, purple and fine linen are used in the construction of the old covenant sanctuary.
The Prostitute = The Great City Of Jerusalem
Purple and fine linen are also used in the construction of the Temple in Jerusalem (2 Chronicles 3:14).
In Revelation 17-18, Jerusalem is clothed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury.
In AD 70, Jerusalem burned to the ground along with the religious leaders in Jerusalem.
