What Is The New Heaven and New Earth?
Revelation 21:1-5
According to the Bible, the new heaven and new earth does not refer to a physical new heaven and new earth.
Rather, it refers to the change from the old order of things to the new order of things where Jesus makes everything new.
The old was the old covenant of law with its judgments upon Israel and the nations resulting in death, mourning, crying, and pain by those who experienced the judgments.
The new is the new covenant of grace established in the blood of Jesus that flows to the nations for their healing.
The old order of the covenant of law has passed away...there are no more judgments resulting in death, mourning, crying, and pain.
The new covenant of grace has come.
Heaven will no longer pour out law-based judgments on Israel or any nation.
Instead, heaven is now pouring out the free gift of the water of life to all people in all nations.
The gift is Jesus and all he has done (forgiveness of sins, righteousness, eternal life) through his life, death, burial, and resurrection.
Anyone can drink of the free gift through faith in Jesus.
