Two BIG REASONS I Believe The Rapture Already Happened!

Reason #1: Jesus was coming to RESCUE believers from the wrath to come.

According to Jesus, this wrath was to be poured out on unbelieving Israel in the first century, resulting in the desolation of Jerusalem, the destruction of the temple, along with many unbelieving Jews being taken captive into the nations of the Roman Empire (Luke 21:20-24).

This was the Jewish-Roman War from AD 66 to 70.

The desolation of Jerusalem and destruction of the temple occurred at the end of the war and is the subject of Revelation.

1 Thessalonians 1:8-10

"Therefore we do not need to say anything about it, for they themselves report what kind of reception you gave us. They tell how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead—Jesus, who RESCUES us [first-century believers] from the coming wrath [judgment on unbelieving Israel from AD 66 - 70, see Luke 21:20-24]."

Reason #2: Jesus was coming to RELIEVE believers from the persecution they were experiencing from the unbelieving Jews.

2 Thessalonians 1:6-7

"God is just [in his wrath to unbelieving Israel who was persecuting the believers]: He will pay back trouble to those [unbelieving Jews who was persecuting the saints] who trouble you [believers] and give RELIEF to you who are troubled, and to us [Paul and his team] as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels."

The rapture accomplished the RESCUE of believers and the RELIEF for believers prior to wrath upon unbelieving Israel from AD 66 to 70.

These are the TWO BIG REASONS I believe the rapture already occurred.

The hope of believers today is our heavenly destination.

1 Peter 1:3-4

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you..."

Colossians 1:3-5

"We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all God’s people— the faith and love that spring from the hope stored up for you in heaven and about which you have already heard in the true message of the gospel..."

I know this is a difficult biblical truth to accept because many have been taught to look for a future rapture to deliver believers from a future wrath.

That’s the view I held for over 40 years.
