The Former Things Of Revelation 21

In Revelation 21:1-4, the FORMER order of things under the old heaven and the old earth passed away, and the new order of things of the new heaven and new earth appeared.

The former order of things is the former old covenant of law that passed away.

The writer of Hebrews, when writing about the FORMER regulation of the law of Moses, states in Hebrews 7:18-29:

"The FORMER regulation is set aside because it was weak and useless (for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God."

The former regulation of law was set aside because NO ONE could draw near to God.

This is the former old covenant heaven and the old covenant earth that passed away in Revelation 21:1-4.

No one could draw near to God on the old covenant heaven and earth.

The better hope is the new covenant of grace where ANYONE can draw near to God.

The better hope is the new order of things...the new order of grace.

The better hope is the new heaven and the new earth.

The new heaven and the new earth of Revelation 21:1-4 is not referring to a physical new heaven and new earth.

It is referring to a spiritual new heaven and new earth where heaven (God) no longer relates to earth (people) through the law of Moses.

Heaven (God) now relates to earth (people) through the new covenant of grace established in the blood of Jesus at the cross.

Through faith in Jesus, ANYONE can enter into the new covenant of grace.

If you have never placed your faith in Jesus or aren’t sure you have, below is a simply prayer to express your faith in Jesus.

Jesus, I believe you lived, died, and rose from the dead. I believe you died on the cross for all of my sins so that I could be forgiven. I believe you rose from the dead to give me eternal life. I may not understand everything, but these things I do understand. Today, I place my faith in you for salvation.

If you placed your faith in Jesus, we would love to know. CLICK HERE to send us a message that you placed your faith in Jesus.
