What Did Jesus Mean When He Said, "I Am The True Vine." (John 15:1)

In the Hebrew Bible, God said he planted Israel as his choice vine, but Israel became a wild vine because of the people's immoralities and corruption (Jeremiah 2:21).

Consequently, judgment came upon Israel as foretold by Jeremiah.

Jesus was the true vine (John 15:1)...the true Israel.

He was the Israel who had no sins and no corruption.

He did not become a wild vine.

Jesus had no sin and no corruption.

Those who placed their faith in Jesus, both Jews and Gentiles, became a part of true spiritual Israel...the true vine (Ephesians 2:11-21; 1 Peter 2; Galatians 6:16).

The corrupt Israel who rejected Jesus was judged from AD66-70, culminating in the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple by the Roman armies.
