The First-Century Prayers Of The Persecuted Saints

In Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, Jesus consistently warned BELIEVING Israel they would be persecuted and killed by UNBELIEVING Israel .

In this persecution, Jesus said unbelieving Israel would be removed from the synagogues and killed (Matthew 10:16-23; 23:34; Mark 13:9; Luke 21:12; John 16:2)

John 16:2
"They [unbelieving Israel] will put you [believing Israel] out of the synagogue; in fact, the time is coming when anyone who klls you will think they are offering a service to God."

What Jesus foretold was fulfilled in Acts and the years following (Acts 5:40; 7:57-58; acts 9:1-2; 22:19; 26:11; 2 Corinthians 11:24-25; 1 Thessalonians 2:14-15; Revelation).

Believing Israel prayed for justice on their killers, unbelieving Israel.

Believing Israel prayed for the avenging of their blood.

Revelation 6:9-11

9When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain [believing Israel] because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained [belief in Jesus as the Christ].

10They called out in a loud voice, “How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants [unbelieving Israel] of the earth [Greek word is also translated as land, meaning the land of Israel] and avenge our blood?”

11Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the full number of their fellow servants, their brothers and sisters, were killed just as they had been.

The prayers of the saints were answered when an angel poured out the final old covenant judgments upon unbelieving Israel from AD66-70.

Revelation 8:3-5

3Then another angel, who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense to offer, along with the PRAYERS OF ALL THE SAINTS, on the golden altar before the throne.

4 And the smoke of the incense, together with THE PRAYERS OF THE SAINTS, rose up before God from the hand of the angel.

5Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and hurled it to the earth [land of Israel]; and there were peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning, and an earthquake [old covenant judgments - compare with the giving of the law in Exodus 19-20].

With the pouring out of the old-covenant judgments, justice was served on their killers, and the blood of the saints was avenged.

Revelation 16:4-6

4And I heard the angel of the waters say:

5“Righteous are You, O Holy One, who is and was, because You have brought these judgments.

6For they [unbelieving Israel] have spilled the blood of saints and prophets [believing Israel], and You have given them blood to drink, as they deserve.” - see Matthew 23:30-36.

Revelation 19:1-2

1After this I heard a sound like the roar of a great multitude in heaven, shouting:

“Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God!

2For His judgments are true and just. He has judged the great prostitute [old covenant Jerusalem; the great city; Mystery Babylon] who corrupted the earth [land of Israel] with her immorality. He has avenged the blood of His servants that was poured out by her hand.”

Revelation 16:4-6 and 19:2 are the answered prayers of the persecuted saints in Revelation 6:9-11 who were removed from synagogues and killed in the first century by unbelieving Israel.
