Will Only A Few Be Saved?

Jesus was asked, “Will only a few be saved?” (Luke 13:23)

This was a question about a few Israelites being saved when first-century, old covenant Israel would be judged.

This judgment occurred from AD 66-70 when God judged Israel with the Roman armies.

Salvation came through belief in Jesus as the Christ.

Over one million Israelites died.

A few believed in Jesus and were saved.

In Revelation 7:9, John saw a great multitude of believers in Jesus no one could count.

This is the multitude of believers from all nations.

When Jesus was asked about only a few being saved, the question referred specifically to the few Israelite believers who would not die in the judgment of God upon the nation.

This judgment was carried out by the Roman armies from AD 66-70.

Over one million unbelieving Israelites died in the judgment.
