Jesus Ends The Old Humanity Of Law And Creates A New Humanity Of Grace

The separation of Jews and Gentiles into two groups was the old humanity (Genesis 10-12).

In this humanity, Israel was given specific law-based commands and regulations by God so they would remain separate from the nations (Deuteronomy).

The reason for the separation was so Israel could reveal to the nations the true God.

If Israel disobeyed the law and joined the nations in the worship of demons, God would destroy them (Deuteronomy 8:19).

Israel disobeyed God and was judged by him in 721 BC (Assyrian armies), 586 BC (Babylonian armies), and in AD 70 (Roman armies).

Back to the law-based commands and regulations...

These law-based commands and regulations formed a wall that divided Israel and the nations.

These commands and regulations created hostility between them.

However, Jesus, through the cross, destroyed the barrier of law, the dividing wall between Israel and the Gentiles.

He did this by nailing the commands and regulations of the law to the cross.

The reason Jesus destroyed the commands and regulations dividing Israel from the Gentiles was so he could unite Israel and the Gentiles into one new spiritual humanity.

This spiritual humanity is a humanity united by the grace of Jesus rather than separated by the law of Moses.

When individuals from the nations, including Israel, place their faith in Jesus, they become a part of God’s new humanity of grace.

This is what Jesus is doing today on the new covenant heaven and new earth as he makes everything new!
