Five Questions To Ask And Answer When Studying The Bible

Question #1: How do the verses being studied fit into the narrative of the Bible and Book being read?

Question: #2: What did the original speaker/writer intend for the original listener/reader to understand about what was spoken or written?

Question #3: What did the original listener/reader understand the original speaker/writer to be communicating?

Question #4: What original words were used by the speaker/writer before they were translated into a version of the Bible?

Question #5: What did the original audience understand the original words to mean?

Asking and answering these five questions give us a better opportunity to accurately determine the meaning of a verse or verses.
