Is God Judging Nations Today?

Is God still judging the nations as he was during the time of the old covenant of law?

God sent Jonah to Nineveh to warn them of God's judgment.

Nineveh was the capital city of Assyria.

Not only was Assyria facing God's judgment, but Assyria was used by God to judge the northern kingdom of Israel (Isaiah 10) after it split into the northern kingdom and southern kingdom following the reign of Solomon.

Judgments of the nations were common during the old covenant of law era, as described in the Hebrew Bible.

These judgements were during the time of "old covenant heaven and earth" when God was pouring out judgment on the nations.

God would send prophets to the nations to warn them to repent of their wickedness.

If they did not, he would judge the nations by bringing another nation against them.

We now live on the new covenant heaven and earth where God is pouring out the water of life from heaven to earth for the healing of the nations - Revelation 21-22.

Judgments of the nations are over.

The final judgment and the final nation judged was old covenant Israel in AD 70 (Luke 21:5-24).

Revelation records the conclusion of the old covenant heaven and earth and the establishment of the new covenant heaven and earth.
