Unseen From The Beginning of Time, And Never to Be Seen Again (Matthew 24:21)

One of the objections to Matthew 24 being fulfilled in the past (the Jewish-Roman War from AD 66 to 70) is that there have been more war-based deaths after AD 70 than what occurred in the Jewish-Roman War.

This objection comes from Matthew 24:21 when Jesus said,

"For at that time there will be great tribulation unseen from the beginning of the world until now, and never to be seen again."

The reasoning of those making this objection is that the world has seen greater deaths in other wars than in the Jewish-Roman war...

...therefore, Matthew 24 could not be about the Jewish-Roman War.

What those making this objection fail to see is that the great tribulation was on old covenant Israel, culminating in the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple.

According to Jesus, the world would never see again God judging Israel or other nations with the destructive power that he unleashed on first-century, old covenant Israel.

Why would the world never see this fierce judgment from God again?

It is because the judgement of Israel from AD 66-70 marked the end of old covenant judgments, never to be seen again.

In Matthew 24:21, Jesus quoted Daniel 12:1, then added "never to be seen again."

Daniel 12 is about the final old covenant judgment poured out on Israel and the nations.

The Daniel 12 judgment was poured out on old covenant Israel from AD 66-70 in the Jewish-Roman War.

Josephus, in his books, records the atrocities of the judgment that included so much more than the number of people who died.

Most people have never been taught about these atrocities.

Thankfully, this was the final old covenant judgment by God.

No judgments by God upon Israel or the nations will ever be seen again.

Wars that we see today are wars of men not judgments of God as in the days of the old covenant.

Today, we live in the new covenant of grace where heaven is pouring out the water of life on the nations for their healing.

The water of life is the new covenant of grace established in the blood of Jesus.

The water of life is forgiveness and righteousness freely offered to all people.

The water of life is entering into a relationship with God.

The water of life is received through faith in Jesus.

The water of life being poured out from heaven is for all people in all nations, including Israel.
