These Two Bible Verses Guided My Life From Childhood
When I was a child, I spent much time reading the Children's Bible given to me by my parents.
Two verses that impacted me as a child were:
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, do not lean on your own understanding, but in all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your steps.
I never forgot these verses as I grew up.
I found myself in many different places meeting many different people.
Many times I did not understand why the Lord directed my steps to these places to meet these people.
These were times I had to trust the Lord.
Later it became clear.
Many times the direction of my life took me on a different path than what I prayed for and expected.
These were hard times.
Dark times.
Times I didn't understand.
These were times I had to trust the Lord.
Later it became clear.
These days I trust the Lord is continuing to direct my steps, even though I still don't understand many times.
I know one day it will be clear.
I wish I could say I trusted the Lord with all my heart and acknowledged him in all my ways from childhood through adulthood, but I didn't.
I took many steps that he did not direct.
I took many paths he did not direct.
However, in his grace, he redirected my steps back onto his path again and again.
Whatever path your steps have taken you down…
Wherever you find yourself on this path...
Trust the Lord...don't lean on your own understanding...in all your ways acknowledge him...he will direct your steps...
And on the days you are not trusting or acknowledging him, he will redirect your steps back onto his path by his grace.
