Jesus Was Not Against The Lost
Jesus was not against the lost.
Jesus came to seek and save the lost.
He loved the lost.
He loved the prostitutes and the tax collectors.
He spent time with them.
He poured grace out to them.
Jesus was slandered by the religious people.
The religious people were dedicated to the study of the Hebrew Bible, but they missed Jesus…they missed grace.
They were dedicated to obedience.
They were dedicated to traditions.
Yet they hated Jesus (John 18:25).
They hated his love for the sinners.
They hated the time he spent with them.
They hated the sinners.
That’s what the story of the prodigal son is about.
Ironically, those who the religious people hated, the prostitutes and the tax collectors, entered into eternal life before the religious people (Matthew 21:31).
It is the sinners (tax collectors and prostitutes) who are highlighted in the Bible as those who experienced a changed life.
