If Revelation Has Been Fulfilled, What Do We Do Now?
Here is my response to someone who asked me about what do we do now if Revelation has been fulfilled...just wait to die?
Below is my reply.
"Thanks for your question.
I totally understand how you feel.
When I started studying Revelation 2 years ago, I held to a futurist view of Revelation.
As I continued the study, it first left me confused and disillusioned.
Then I began to understand that Revelation was the fulfillment of what Jesus foretold in Luke 19:41-44, Luke 21:5-24, and Luke 23:26-30…
…The end of old covenant Israel and judgment on the nations.
In the conclusion of my study, I see that our destiny is heaven, as Paul wrote in Philippians 3:20-21 and Colossians 1:5-14.
Peter also wrote that our inheritance is heaven… 1 Peter 1:3-8.
Heaven was the expectation of the first believers.
Our goal today is to take people to heaven with us.
We are the new Jerusalem on earth…Revelation 21-22.
We are the Bride on earth.
We are the temple of God on earth…Ephesians 2:11-22.
Heaven is pouring out the water of life through us to those outside the new Jerusalem.
The new Jerusalem is the family of grace.
The Spirit and the Bride say to those outside the new Jerusalem to come and drink freely of the water of life.
This is the healing of the nations.
There are many “women at the well” all around us.
There are many Zacchaeus’.
They need Jesus.
Our mission has not changed.
Our mission is to reach the lost.
There are lost sheep…
…lost coins
…and lost sons and daughters all around us.
The lost are loved.
To them, the Spirit and Bride say come and drink freely of the water of life.
Come into the new Jerusalem and eat of the tree of life.
Enjoy the presence of God.
The gates of the new Jerusalem are always open.
Anyone can enter at anytime.
We live in Revelation 21-22.
We are filling the earth with the glory of God’s grace.
We are taking his grace to the world.
We are the growing kingdom of God in Daniel 2 that will never be destroyed.
We never die.
Jesus said those who believe in him have crossed over from death to life.
We live with Christ even though we die.
We have been forgiven and declared righteous by God.
We have been made alive with Christ and seated with him in heaven.
We take the message of God’s grace to the world so others can share with us in what Christ has done and have the hope of heaven as we do.
Thanks for your question.
I hope this helps."
