The Great City of Grace, The New Jerusalem - Healing For the Nations

Revelation 21:1-4 records the heavenly city of grace, the new Jerusalem coming from heaven to earth.

This city of grace is the spiritual, new covenant/testament city of grace, consisting of believers all over the world.

This new covenant city of grace, the new Jerusalem, is in contrast to the old covenant city of law, the physical Jerusalem.

(See Galatians 4:21-26; Hebrews 12:22-24).

The new Jerusalem is the new covenant/testament of city of grace established in the blood of Jesus (the new covenant is not about books but the blood of Jesus).

In this city is the spiritual temple of God, believers in whom God's Spirit lives (Ephesians 2:11-22).

From this spiritual city and temple, grace is now flowing to the nations of the world for their healing.

Revelation 22:1-2 says,

“Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for THE HEALING OF THE NATIONS.”

God’s grace is all that he has kindly and freely given to us in Jesus for our individual salvation and for the restoration of the nations of the world (Ephesians 2:1-10; Galatians 3).

God’s grace is received through faith in Jesus.

Those who trust in Jesus become a part of this Great City of Grace, the New Jerusalem.

From this Great City of Grace, the New Jerusalem, grace flows through believers to heal the nations of the world.

Our part in bringing healing to the nations is giving people all over the world the opportunity to hear the good news about God's grace.
