Preterist Resources
The word Preterist simply means the past.
Preterists seek to understand the Bible by first asking, “What did the biblical writer or speaker mean when communicating with the past audience, and how did the past biblical audience understand what was being originally written or spoken?
This is not an uncommon approach to Bible study, but it is an approach commonly skipped.
When this approach is skipped, interpretation and application of the Bibles is skewed.
When it comes to eschatology (the study of the end times or last days), Preterits believe the events of the Olivet Discourse (Matthew 23-25; Mark 13; Luke 21) and Revelation were partially or fully fulfilled in the past.
Partial preterists believe most of the prophecies have been fulfilled.
Full preterists believe all of the prophecies have been fulfilled.
Among preterists, there are many different views just as there are among other students of the Bible.
